Like many other women, I fell prey to the countless diets, the eat-restrict-binge cycle, the pressure to live up to societal body standards and just tried “everything under the sun.” Where did it stem from? Labelled as ‘fat’ by a doctor when I was growing up. For years I struggled, knowing I had the “diabesity” gene in the family.
I never really put it together until I qualified as a doctor, when I realised that our medical system has some clear gaps: a lack of compassion, unsurmountable time constraints and an inability to provide adequate support beyond “lose weight, eat less and go exercise.” Does that mean we blame doctors? Most definitely not. Lifestyle Medicine was not something taught in medical schools.
That’s what fueled my passion in this field and has led me to help over 1,000 patients optimise their lifestyle, break free from diets and still achieve their goals in a medically sound, label-free, judgement-free, and compassionate environment. Women’s bodies change over the stages of womenhood, it’s time we become aware and proactive about this.
We are grateful to provide our patients with programmes that are ever-evolving (and aligned with the most current research & guidelines) and deliver BIG results from the decade of experience that I have in the field of Lifestyle Medicine and prevention.
